Ghana midfielder Derek Boateng has joined Spanish side Rayo Vallecano, the club announced on Tuesday.
The 31-year-old midfielder arrived at the club on a free transfer from Fulham. Boateng was virtually a bench warmer at Craven Cottage since joining them at the beginning of the 2013-14 season.
La Liga terrain is not new to the former AIK star since he spent the 2009-10 and 2010-11 seasons in the Primera with Getafe.
Rayo Vallecano are hoping the addition of the Ghana international will boost their rebuilding process ahead of the 2014-15 campaign.
The club are yet to announce a date for his official unveiling.
