Dr. Sarpong misunderstood Otumfuo – Lamini

A former Board member for Asante Kotoko, Alhaji Abu Lamini says former Executive Board Chairman, Dr. Kofi Kodua Sarpong misunderstood club owner Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

He revealed that the Asantehene told the members of the outgoing board that his comments which were made during the presentation of the Premier League trophy by the club were misconstrued by Dr. Sarpong.

“Otumfuo told us that Dr. Sarpong misunderstood his comments and wasn’t patient enough. He failed to understand what Otumfuo was saying and overreacted by resigning.”

Lamini noted that even though the monarch did not use the word ‘dissolve’, indirectly one could say that the board had been dissolved, even though he would not want to speak for the Asantehene.

“Otumfuo never used the word ‘dissolve’. He just told us that the Board would be reconstituted. So even though I would not want to speak for him, maybe indirectly it was something like that.”
