Sampdoria midfielder Alfred Duncan has said his main objective is to be part of the squad to represent Ghana at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

Duncan is on loan at the Genoa-based club from Inter Milan. The 21-year-old midfielder who had a difficult loan spell at Livorno last season joined Sampdoria on a season-long loan deal.

Duncan was part of the bronze-winning squad who represented Ghana at the 2013 Fifa Under-20 World Cup in Turkey and is with high hopes his team-mates at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris will help him gatecrash the final squad to represent the four-time African champions at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations to be held in Morocco.

“At Inter, I was fine, now, the goal is to get into the Ghanaian national team for the African Cup of Nations and I hope that my team-mates [at Sampdoria] will help me achieve this goal,” Duncan told Sky Sport Italia. Duncan made his senior national team debut on November 14, 2012 against Cape Verde.

He is hoping to learn more from his new team-mates ahead of the 2014-15 Italian Serie A.

“I want to put on a show. I am ready to learn and experience new things. At Livorno, I learned so much and I want to continue on the same path,” Duncan said.

“It was great. My team-mates greeted me well. I have also spoken to the coach and I have met him.”
