Accra, May 6, GNA - Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs kept alive their premiership ambitions with a lone goal victory over Mine Stars on Thursday at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra.

Captain Bismarck Asiedu scored the only goal of the match in the 65th minute to ensure the former premiership campaigners maintain their hundred percent record in the Zone Two Middle League campaign. The victory takes Dwarfs goal tally to six from two games but Dompim-based Medeamaa FC lead the pack on superior goals. Dwarfs, who fielded veterans Emmanuel Osei Kuffour and former Kumasi Asante Kotoko captain Godwin Ablordey dominated the first half but had no clear cut chance at goal.

Mine Stars however matched them squarely as they resumed the second half resulting in several raids into the Dwarfs area after midfield duo Benjamin Doglo and Saeed Mohammed gained the upper hand in the middle. Dwarfs' goal getter, Asiedu managed to break the deadlock from a goalmouth action with a move initiated by Ablordey. Mine Stars quickly responded but the cross bar denied them the equaliser six minutes later after Dwarfs goalie Ekow Ampiah fumbled with a free-kick.

Four minutes on, Dwarfs came close to doubling the lead but Kuffour's glancing header from Douglas Mustapha's cross missed the posts narrowly. In the other Zone Two clash held at the Tema Park, Medeamaa beat West Ham 5-2. Dwarfs will clash Medeamaa in the decider on Monday, May 10 at the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra. The winner of the tie will qualify to the premiership.
