Head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, J.E Sarpong has revealed that his side’s season opener defeat at home to premier league debutant, Dreams FC is a wake-up call.
The Cape Coast-based club suffered a slim defeat at the Robert Mensah stadium on Sunday afternoon, courtesy of Johnson Owusu’s strike that sunk them to their knees.
Dreams FC dominated the ‘Abontobonto’ team and deservedly won, and the fixture and the man behind the technical and tactical abilities of the team, J.E Sarpong says the defeat is a sign that no team can be taken for granted.
“This result is a wake-up call for me and the team,” the former Black Meteors coach said in his post match press.
Ebusua Dwarfs won the Zone 2 of the Division One League last season, and they still had the butterflies in the stomach prior to the match.
And J.E Sarpong, who guided their successful journey back to the domestic top flight competition has warned that the premier league is in a class of its own and his side must aclamatise quickly before they travel to Obuasi next weekend.
“The result shows that is not easy to play in the premier division. We must all back up for the upcoming season.” He noted.
