Kumasi, Nov. 14, GNA - New Edubiase United put up a splendid performance to beat Fabulous Kumasi Asante Kotoko 2-1 in their week 11, Glo Premier League match played at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday.

Kotoko have thus lost four matches on the trot as they lost to city rivals King Faisal and Accra Hearts of Oak both in Kumasi and went ahead to lose again to Aduana Stars in an away match at Dormaa Ahenkro. Not even with their newly signed Serbian Coach, Bogdan Borak on the bench could stop Edubiase from leading by two goals in the first half, with the two goals scored by Fuseini Nuhu in the seventh and 16th minutes respectively.

Kotoko did all that they could to break the deadlock by substituting David Offei for Edward Affum in the 27th minute but they still failed to find the net to end the first half with their die-hard supporters who thronged the stadium sitting on 'thorns'.

With Kabiru Moro replacing Gariba Umar on resumption of the second half, the Porcupine Warriors began to put intense pressure on the visitors who had resorted to defending their two goals.

Kotoko continued with their incessant pressure as they laid siege in the goal area of Edubiase and nearly redeemed a goal in the 56th and 57th minutes respectively but substitutes Kabiru and Affum who brought some form of vim into the game missed the chances.

New Edubuase brought on Sakyi Quaye to replace the goals scorer, Nuhu in the 69th minute but it was still the Kotoko attackers who fought like wounded tigers in an effort to redeem at least a goal. With the heat on the visitors, Edubiase's defender pulled down Samad Oppong in the box in the 72nd minute for Daniel Nii Adjei to score from the resultant kick to bring some relief to the Kotoko supporters. Oppong followed up by hitting the side posts with a powerful shot in the 76th in a goalmouth melee.

Determined to ensure that they annexed the maximum points, Edubiase brought on Michael Ocansey for Emmanuel Baffour in the 88th minute to consolidate their lead.

It was Kotoko who made last minutes onslaught but when in the 89th minute a shot from Jordan Opoku was parried to corner and the corner kick wasted, the die was cast for Kotoko's defeat in four matches on the trot. 14 Nov. 10
