Fans will be allowed to attend the match after being banned from recent matches due to security concerns.
The Ghanaian Football Association has set 15 October as the date for the first leg in Kumasi.
The Pharaohs are eyeing their first World Cup appearance since 1990, while Ghana are seeking to reach the tournament for the third consecutive time, having reached the quarterfinals in their last appearance in 2010.
Egypt will play a friendly against Sierra Leone on 28 September
