Ellembelle To Honour Nkrumah With ‘Osagyefo Soccer Tourney’

The second annual edition of the Osagyefo Inter-Schools Soccer Cup Competitions is expected to be launched on Thursday 13th September, 2012 at Melody Hotel, Takoradi in the Western region.

The 2012 edition is aimed at commemorating the ‘Founder’s Day’ Celebration on September, 21st 2012.

This year’s edition is under the theme “Deepening our Democracy in Peace and Unity”.

The occasion will also focus on creating the awareness to Ghanaians and Politicians at large to ensure Peace and tolerance as the country prepares to hold its sixth general election in December.

It will also target on bringing together all citizens from within and outside the Nzemaland to celebrate one of Africa’s finest heroes, Dr. Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah in a grand style.

The soccer event which will start from Tuesday 18th and end on Friday 21st 2012 at the Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School Park, the birth place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah is sponsored by Adamus Resources Limited, a Mining Company based in the Ellembelle District, and it is partnered by the Office of the Member of Parliament for Ellembelle Hon. Emmanuel Armah Kofi-Buah. It is also collaborated by the Ellembelle District Coordinating Council and District branch of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

The four day event will attract some high profiled personalities such as the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana His Excellency Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Minister of Education Hon Lee Ocran, Western Regional Minister, DCEs and Paramount Chiefs of the Nzemaland.

The Osagyefo Inter-Schools Soccer Cup Competitions shall be participated by the eight senior high schools within the Nzema area, such as the HOST school, Nkroful Agriculture Senior (NASS), Nsein Senior High School (NSEINSCO), Half Assini Senior High School (HASCO), Essiama Secondary Technical School (SECTECH), Kikam Technical Institute (KIMTECH), Bonzo Kaku Senior School (BOKASS), Usman Bin Afan Senior High School (UBASH) and Annor Adjei Senior School (ANASS).

Last year’s event was won by Nkroful Agriculture Senior High School (NASS) with Half Assini Senior High School (HASCO) placing as runners up.
