Ghana international Thomas Partey was a strong target for Leicester City who were in the market for a replacement for N’Golo Kante who had departed for Chelsea.
Ahead of their Champions League tie on Wednesday, Spanish outlet, ?Mundo Deportivo reported that former Leicester manager Claudio Ranieri made Partey one of his main transfer targets last summer.
The 22-year-old was given 15 minutes of the game in which the Spanish side won 1-0 ahead of the second leg next week.
The Ghanaian has played only 277 minutes of La Liga football this year, and looks likely to leave the Vicente Claderon this summer.
