Former Real Sportive defender Charles Vardis has alleged Kotoko Operations Ali Maradona attempted to bribe him to play it soft against the Porcupine Warriors ahead of a Ghana Premier League encounter in 2005.
Vardis, who has retired from football, accused the famed Kotoko official on his Facebook page.
In a brief exchange of banter with a Ghanaian journalist, the centre-back posted:
"He has been to ma house wen Real Sportive vs Kotoko at Tema and he told me he want to bribe me and I refused. Call him He should stop spoiling players talent."
The match ended 0-0 at the Tema Sports Stadium.
Vardis went on to play for Hearts of Oak and New Edubiase United.
