Former player of Hearts of Oak Uriah Asante was yesterday laid to rest at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Accra.
The funeral which was strictly attended by family and friends of the former Etoile du Sahel midfielder saw several tributes being read for the ex-football star.
The 24-year-old is said to have died after complaining of Heart pains having returned from Bahrain where he had his last stint before passing on.
The funeral was graced by officials of Hearts of Oak as well as former teammates of the player.
Asante enjoyed stints with Tunisia Club EGS Gafsa FC, Astra Giougio and Al Raffa also in Bahrain.
He was also a member of the Ghana U20 (Black Meteors) team that won Gold at the 2011 All Africa Games in Maputo (Mozambique).
He is an alumni of the University of Ghana.
