F.C Medeamaa qualifies for Division One

Tarkwa based sensational F.C Medeamaa has secured qualification to feature in the 2009/10 National Division One League after finishing as winners of the Western Regional Super Middle League which ended last Thursday at the Sekondi Gyandu Park.

The four-club Super Middle League which begun on Tuesday saw the winner being decided on the final day of the competition as the two sides, F.C Medeamaa and Rospak S.C who were tipped to make it were both pegged at four points each before the final game.

However, F.C Medeamaa rose tall among the four after beating their opponents 2-0 to finish as winners of the group and qualified for the Division One League. In the third and final game, the Tarkwa lads who are being coached by former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko coach, Abdul Karim Zito, displayed good football and skillful play to send signals of what they have in store for their fellow clubs when the Polytank Division One League commences in December. Speaking to newsmen after his qualification, Mr. Moses Armah, Chairman of F.C Medeamaa thanked all who supported in diverse ways to see their dream of earning a ticket to the Division One league realized.

He singularly showered praised on fans of Tarkwa, who have thrown their weight behind the club and followed the team throughout their campaign. He however stressed that gaining qualification to participate in the Glo Premier League remains his biggest challenge now that they have qualified for the Division One league.

“Gaining qualification to play with the likes of Asante Kotoko, Hearts of Oak, King Faisal, Ashgold , Liberty Professionals among others in the Premier League is my target and I hope by the grace of God together with support from fans in Tarkwa we shall definitely get there Insha Allah” he added. On his part, coach Abdul Karim Zito, has promised to qualify the team to the Premier League within their first stay in the Division One League. Below are the results and final table
