Newly qualified First Division club F.C TANGA, is close to confirming its 30 member playing squad for the National Division One league. The Club will be playing in the Zone One of the Division One league in 2016.
Zone One of the National Division One league is made up of Clubs based in the Upper East, Upper West, Northern and Brong-Ahafo regions.
Even before F.C TANGA was officially promoted to Division One, Club C.E.O, Miss Humu Khrusum Tahiru had sent a strong signal that, the Club wouldn't just add up to the number of clubs in Zone One.
Miss Khrusum Tahiru had earlier told fctanga.com, that the Club intends to be the first club in the Upper East region to qualify for the National Premiere League, saying "the embarrassment must end; this region is the only region that has never had a premiere club in this country. It is not a decent record to set and F.C TANGA will work hard to end this."
Upper East region, which was known as Upper Region, was created out the then Northern Territory over 52 years ago. The region has produced and nurtured many talented players and yet the region cannot boast of having a club that has ever played in Ghana's Premiere Leagues. Upper West was later created from the Upper Regions and has had a Premiere Club; Wa Alll Stars.
The problem with the Upper East is that, people either watch club owners and managers to suffer alone with their little resources or so much effort is put into pulling performing clubs down.
F.C TANGA in persuance of its objective for the 2016 season, is close to finalizing its squad for the 2016 league after a series of "justify" sessions at the Bolgatanga Sports Stadium and the Bolgatanga Mobile Park. Players from the Northern, Volta, Brong-Ahafo, Ashanti, Western, Greater Accra, Upper West and Upper East regions have come to participate in the series of "justify" trainings and matches from October-November 2015.
F.C TANGA was adjudged the Best Club in a four club Tournament held at Dansoman in the Greater Accra region. The tournament was organized at the request of the Chairman of Al-Wehda Club in Saudi Arabia. F.C TANGA also in October 2015 participated in a four club Tournament at Bechem in the Brong-Ahafo region.
Club Management and Technical Team have been tasked by President Rockson Coffie to conclude selection and all negotiations in new signings before the Club participates in an important pre-season Tournament to be staged in the Central region before the end of November 2015 and another one in the first week of December 2015.
So far, all F.C TANGA players who had injuries during the Division Two league, have recovered and training and playing hard to maintain their positions in the Club. Some new signings have been concluded and players will soon be outdoored to the media and supporters of the Club.
