THE PARTICIPATION of Ghana's Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the VODACOM Challenge Cup in South African this week is in doubt.
A source at the Ghana Football Association has hinted that the league would not be rescheduled - thus meaning that both clubs would have to present two teams, one representing them in the domestic league whilst the other would represent them in the cup competition.
This was announced after a meeting between the Professional League Board and the Ghana Football Association yesterday, where the FA decided not to reschedule matches involving the two clubs - the Ghanaian FA are expected to communicate their decision to both clubs today.
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive of Accra Hearts of Oak, Harry Zakkour, has stated his team are expected to leave Accra for South Africa on the 27 June.
Also another club boss, Felix Ansong, of Liberty Professionals has expressed dismay at the last minute postponement of their outstanding league match with Hearts of Oak, which was expected to be played today.
According to the Liberty boss, his outfit will submit the total cost incurred in their preparations for the match to the FA.
He concluded by saying that, in as much as Liberty Professionals would want to be part of any programme aimed at raising funds for the stadium disaster, they would not be part of any unplanned activity that could jeopardise football development in the country.
