Owner and bankroller of Okwawu United, Bryan Acheampong has branded their failure to gain qualification to the premier league as big disappointment.

The Okwawu based club was optimistic of gaining qualification to the top flight but couldn’t archive their objectives due to the problems they encountered during matches and deduction of board room points.

They finished the season with 43 points, winning 11 matches, drawing 10 and losing 9 and settled on the 7th position after 30 matches played in Zone 3 of the GN Division One League.

The continuous problem within the club prompted Mohammed Gago who was the head to step aside.

Speaking to Asempa Sports, Bryan said, “Not qualifying for the premier league is big disappointment but looking at how the team performed, I will say I am not discouraged and I am ever committed to the course of Okwawu United.

“I expect the people of Okwawu to know that it is a game and the management will not set up a course for the club and go out and fail and I think the confusion must end because if we don’t take care, we will be disgrace by some people.

“I don’t think the management wished we fail and I don’t think the management decided not to win the FA Cup finals, but what I am saying is that let all come together and move ahead.”

Quizzed if Mohammed Gago will still be back as the head coach of the club, he said, “I have asked the management to allow him to finish his contract with the team and after, we can allow him to go but there is a big challenge with our technical set up and I promise that it will not be the same next season because we want the club to be more professional”.
