Cape Coast, Nov. 4, GNA - Former Premier League side Agona Fankobaa's hope of qualifying for the Central Region Division Two Middle League were dashed when they lost 2-0 to Adansi Praso WAECO FC in their sub Super Zonal Tournament played at the Cape Coast Robert Mensah stadium on Sunday.

Fankobaa who drew 2-2 with Tuba Metro Stars in the opening match needed a win at all cost to qualify but they failed to utilize the chances that came their way to progress to the next stage. After referee Joshua Mensah signalled the two sides into action, it was WAECO who went ahead in the 43rd minute through their mid-fielder, Emmanuel Adjoda.

The WAECO FC lads continued to dictate the affairs in the second half and rightly went ahead to increase their goal tally to two through outside left, Charles Toronto with a long range shot in the 54th minute. In another match, Akotsi Jenaak Academy whipped Saltpond Kampsite Academy 5-0.

An official of the Regional Sports Council told GNA Sports that at the end of the tournament, the first two clubs in each zone will be promoted to join six other clubs who have already qualified to compete in the Central Regional Division Two Middle League scheduled for November 9, 2008.

The other clubs participation include Cape Coast NADEL Rovers, Dunkwa-on-Offin Starke F/C, Mankessim Striking Force, Kasoa Begot Salgado, Amanpong F/C and Gomoa Assin Mampong Hi-Kings F/C.
