Absa Premiership side Chippa United have confirmed that goalkeeper Fatau Dauda has terminated his contract with the club.

Ghana’s leading football website, www.ghanasoccernet.com, broke the news on Monday afternoon that the 2014 World Cup goalkeeper has parted ways with the club.

The 29-year-old claimed he was owed monies and there was no guarantee the Chilli Boys would meet his financial needs.

Hours later, Chippa team manager Peter Koutroulis confirmed the former AshantiGold gloves man had cancelled his two-year contract signed last month.

“Yes, the player has cancelled his contract with us and is no longer here,” Koutroulis told kickoff.com.

“At the moment I can’t reveal details of his release but he has left us.”

Dauda had problems acquiring his work permit in time and that restricted him to only one league appearance.

He joined the newly-promoted PSL side from Orlando Pirates where he was forced to leave due to lack of game time.
