Five venues chosen for Nations Cup tournament

Five stadiums will be used as venues for the 2008 African Nations Cup finals in Ghana, officials said.

Stadiums in the capital Accra, in Kumasi, Tamale, Cape Coast and Sekondi-Takoradi will be refurbished ahead of the 16-nation tournament, which is tentatively scheduled for the beginning of 2008.

Officials said the opening match and the final are expected to take place in Accra.

Ghana will host the bi-annual event for the fourth time.

The next African Nations Cup tournament will be held in Egypt from January 20 to February 10 2006
