Sunyani (B/A) March 13, GNA - Mr. Godfred Asante, Chairman of Multi-Choice Football Club of Goaso was on Friday rushed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Hospital in Sunyani following an alleged assault on him by some supporters of Dormaa Aduana Stars at the Coronation Park. The incident happened after a match between the two sides in the on-going Brong-Ahafo Regional Second Division middle league competition. Mr. Asante who was rescued by some good Samaritans led by "Disco" Nana Gyamfi of premier club, Bofoakwa Tano and took refuge at the VIP stand of the Park later wept bitterly as he was being sent to hospital where he was treated and discharged.

Multi-Choice got the equalizer through a penalty in the second half.

With the scores at level, Berekum-based Class One Referee, Tanko Anyomi became jittery and seemed confused as he began making some strange decisions culminating in the expulsion of Anin Martin and Stephen Nketiah both of Multi-Choice which seemed not to be popular with the spectators.

Goalkeeper Kofi Duah of Multi-Choice was kept in "protective custody" for more than an hour at the referees' dressing room in what was said be in his own interest from being manhandled by the aggrieved supporters of Aduana Stars who claimed the goalie used his boots to slap their player. Mr. Kwasi Owusu, a veteran soccer star and former skipper of the National team, the Black Stars featured prominently in the "peace-making" moves before goalkeeper Duah was safely whisked away from the Park.
