Fulham target Mensah

English premiership league side, Fulham, are being linked with a move for Ghana defender John Mensah, who has impressed for the Black Stars at the World Cup.

The 23-year-old currently plays for French club Rennes, making 12 appearances for the Ligue 1 side last season after arriving in January, and claimed at the weekend that Reading have made a bid for his services.

Watford are also believed to be interested in Mensah, who had a spell in Italy playing for Genoa, Chievo and Cremonese.

Rennes are expected to demand a substantial transfer fee as he recently penned a new three-year contract at the Stade de la Route-de-Lorient
