The funeral of Gordon Prempeh of Kumasi Asante Kotoko fame at the YWCA, 6200 S Drexel in chicago, was massively attended by Ghanaians, and other African and African-American brothers and sisters.

Present at the funeral were: Nana Akwasi Appiah, the Asantehene of Asantes in Chicago, Asantehemaa of Chicago, Nana Ama Akyaa and elders, Sanaahene of Asantes in Chicago, Mr. Bennet Agyeman, Nana Sanaa Darko - Head of Ceremonial Ghanaian chiefs in Chicago and a chief in Ghana - Agyeman Prempeh, former Asante Kotoko hero (lives in Dallas), Albert "Father" Adade(lives in Chicago area) former star of Asante Kotoko, George Gorleku (Chicago area) former star of Kumasi Conerstones.

The strong Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago and its 12 Affilliate Organizations, members of Sahara footbal club in Chicago, the last Ghanaian Soccer Club, Gordon Prempeh played for before he died , were all strongly represented at the funeral.

According to family sources, Gordon may be laid to rest sometime in Ghana.
