Accra, Sept. 28, GNA - The long-awaited Extra -Ordinary Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has been fixed for October 7 at the Conference Hall of the Association. The Congress, which is expected to decide on the commencement date of the new football season has been delayed as a result of the series of legal battles involving some clubs.
Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of the GFA told the GNA Sports on Friday that all is set for the convening of the Congress, which will have the commencement of the 2007/8 Onetouch Premier League high on the agenda. The Assembly of major stakeholders of the country's soccer fraternity will also discuss other issues pertaining to the development of the sport.
Even though there is still a major pending concern in which Catholic Stars have asked for a review of their long-standing case against Wa All Stars, the FA Boss explained that the ruling would be out before the proposed date.
It is expected that the outcome of the ruling might not affect the schedule of the Congress to pave way for the much-awaited commencement of the Premier League.
