With less than one month to the kick off of the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, world governing body FIFA has paid out the $1 million preparatory grant to all the 32 countries that qualified, that includes Ghana. Sources close to the world body confided in Arksports yesterday that the money was released to help facilitate last minute preparation of team before hostilities kick off on June 11.

Although none of the Ghana Football Association top-level officials could be reached yesterday to confirm the receipt of the money, our decent source was adamant that the men at the GFA Head Quarters in Accra have indeed, collected the money.

Apart from this $1million grant, there is a further guarantee of the sum of $8m for playing in the group phase of the World Cup with the amount increasing from $9m to $32m at stake for the winning country.
