The Ghana Football Association says it is saddened by the sudden resignation of Black Stars Coach Ratomir Dujkovic.
The Serbian resigned over the weekend citing ill health as his chief reason.
Dujkovic guided Ghana to her first ever World Cup finals and managed to secure a second round berth with the West African country.
The GFA says though the writing was on the wall, they did not anticipate it will happen suddenly.
FA Vice President Fred Pappoe told Citi FM that that the outfit tried several times to avert the situation, all to no avail.
He stressed that the Association will meet this week to decide on the next plan of action.
?Indeed we are saddened by it and we saw it coming. ?We tried all avenues to avert the situation, to ask Doya to be soft on the decision but it has happened and what can we do?, he said.
Ratomir Dujkovic took over Ghana in 2004 after Portuguese Mariano Barreto left the country in midstream.
He succeeded in qualifying Ghana for her first World Cup.
He is set to be on the verge of taking over the position of Head Coach of the Serbia national team, which became vacant after Coach Ilija Petkovic resigned after the World Cup finals.
Ghana is currently 25th in the FIFA World rankings
