Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kwasi Nyantakyi has rejected claims by King Faisal that he masterminded their humiliating defeat at the hands of Liberty Professionals.

The Kumasi-based club were thrashed 4-0 in the opening GT Premier League game in Dansoman on Sunday, which resulted in King Faisal owner Alhaji Abdul Karim Grunsah's accusation.

Nyantakyi, who is also the bankrolller of newly-promoted Wa All Stars, recruited coach Nuru Ahmed from King Faisal in the pre-season.

Grunsah said the departure of Ahmed to the Wa-based club muddled King Faisal's preparation for the new season but the GFA boss says Grunsah has got it all wrong.

"I have absolutely nothing to do with King Faisal's unfortunate 4-0 defeat at the hands of Liberty Professionals," Nyantakyi said.

"Coach Ahmed, who is a native of Wa, helped us to qualify for the Premier League and he left for King Faisal on his own volition.

"He personally came back to the management team of Wa All Stars to say he wants to return to the club to help build the team from his hometown.

"If the management team found it prudent to recruit him, as the club president I have no qualms. When King Faisal took him we didn?t complain.

"If he had a contract with and King Faisal thought he had violated their agreement they can take him on in court.

"We made our checks to ensure that he was free to join our technical team and that was."
