Accra, Nov. 16, GNA - The Ghana Football Association has sent congratulatory messages to Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko for their sterling performances that ensured the qualification for the grand finale of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Asante Kotoko put up a glistering performance to beat Al-Hilal of Sudan last Saturday at the Kumasi Sports stadium while Hearts beat their Cameroonian counterparts, Cotonsports at the Accra Sports stadium 3-2 to pave the way for the two Ghanaian clubs to meet in the grand finale.
Mr Kofi Nsiah, General Secretary of the GFA said the qualification of the two teams for the final is indicative of the fact that Ghana soccer is on the rise and that "the Association would do all in its capacity to sustain the momentum".
He said that, "the Association has followed with keen interest your excellent display of Ghanaian football skills resulting in both of you making history by qualifying for the final of the maiden edition of the CAF Confederation Cup".
Mr Nsiah added that, "we are optimistic that Accra hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko will remain focused and ensure that Ghana soccer becomes the winner in the all Ghana final.
He therefore congratulated the management, technical team, supporters and the entire playing body of both teams for their success.
