The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has disassociated itself from the purported letter sent to the President of the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) concerning government interference of activities of the Association.
It is said it is not privy to the letter before it was sent to FIFA and has not requested the author, Ebo Quansah to write the said letter on its behalf. And that the content of the letter should also not be attributed to the GFA or any of its officers or Executives members.
A press release issued and signed by Emmanuel Gyimah on behalf of the President of the GFA, Kwesi Nyantakyi copied to GNA Sports on Friday said "If the GFA or any of its officer feels strongly about any of the issues raised in the letter, it is capable of raising them by itself for the attention of the Ghana Government, Confederation of African Football (CAF) or FIFA".
The statement said the GFA will not support any individual to fight any cause it is capable of fighting by itself and in a better position to do so.
Meanwhile the statement said that the "GFA wishes to confirm that it has received a copy of the a letter written by Ebo Quansah dated 26th September, 2010 and addressed to the President of FIFA, Mr Sepp Blatter about alleged political interference in football administration in Ghana.
It said the letter was received and brought to the attention of the Executive Committee of the GFA on 7 October 2010.
