GFA release club statistics of 2003 Premier League

Accra, Mar. 15, GNA - The Ghana Football Association on Monday released statistics for the Premier League Clubs for the 2003 Kinapharma League as well as the total number of yellow cards received by each club.

In a press release issued and signed by the General Secretary of the GFA, Mr Kofi Nsiah and copied to the GNA Sports, Kumasi Asahnti Kotoko topped the table with 23 wins followed by Accra hearts of oak with 18 wins.

Kumasi King Faisal came third with 15 wins followed by Berekum Arsenals with 13 wins, Dansoman-based Liberty professionals 12 wins, Obuasi Goldfields -11 wins and Kpando Heart of Lions and Real Tamale United (RTU) tied with 10 wins each.

Five clubs made up of Okwahu United, Tano Bofoakwa, Brong Ahafo United, Prestea Mine Stars and Koforidua-based Powerlines had nine wins each while Accra Great Olympics and Sekondi Hasaacas had eight wins each with Stay Cool perched at the bottom with only four wins.

In a related development, the GFA also released the total number of yellow cards that each club received during the 2003 premier league with Powerlines topping the list with 62 yellow cards.

Stay Cool received 56 cards followed by Mine Stars with 55 cards, Bofoakwa and B. A. United with 53 cards each, Goldfields - 52 cards, Hearts- 48 cards and Liberty- 46 yellow cards.

Okwahu received 44 yellow cards, RTU - 43, Hasaacas -42, Olympics- and Lions -40 cards each, Arsenals -39 cards Kotoko- 37 cards and King Faisal received the least yellow cards of 36.
