GFA resolves Ansong/Duncan feud

Accra, Nov 4, GNA - The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has resolved a nagging feud between Mr Felix Ansong, Chairman of the Management Committee of the National Under-17 team, the Black Starlets and head coach David Duncan, over an alleged interference.

The coach was reported to have resisted the imposition of Alan Shearer, an alleged player of Ansong on him, which sparked off the row a couple of weeks ago.

Mr Kwesi, Vice Chairman of the GFA, told the GNA Sports on Thursday that the two parties have decided to let sleeping dogs lie in the interest of the team.

Subsequently, the two personalities have also been advised to refrain from any media war in order not to "rock the boat." Mr Nyatakyie said the team was enjoying much peace at the moment and were hoping it will be translated into a good performance on November 21 against Tunisia.

The Starlets are currently in camp preparing for the first leg of their final qualifying match against the north Africans at the Kumasi Sports Stadium towards the Africa championship to be staged in Gambia next year.

The team is billed to move to Kumasi soonest to round off preparations for the crucial match. The GNA Sports learnt that Mr Ansong had threatened to resign after a newspaper publication by THE Graphic Sports, an Accra bi-weekly Sports paper, last Tuesday.

Sequel to that, the Management Board of the GFA decided to organize series of crisis meeting to arrive at a truce. 04 Nov. 04
