The Ghana Football Association has insisted they are unaware of an international friendly between the Black Stars and Nigeria in June.
Reports were rife that the Association had received a letter from the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) requesting to engage the Black Stars in an international friendly.
The game which was aimed at preparing both teams in the Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers was expected to come off in London.
It was also meant to honour the FIFA international free day in June which gives an opportunity to the various national teams in the World to engage in friendly games.
Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association Ibrahim Sannie Darra says his outfit has not received any notification from Nigeria hence oblivious of the supposed friendly.
“We have not had any information of that sort. We are unaware of any friendly match,” he told Accra-based Atinka FM.
“What we know is that we are having are qualifying matches which begins in March and that is what we are preparing for.
“But we are not aware of any international friendly.”
The two sides (Ghana and Nigeria) ware expected to engage in an international friendly in August last year but was cancelled after both sides failed to agree terms.
