A DIRECTOR of Winneba-based Cecil Hunters FC, Mr Tanko Abu Seidu, has appealed to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to suspend the Central Region second division league till the determination of the legal tussle between the FA and Mighty Jets.
This, he said, would help to resolve the issue of promotion by division two clubs now that the Division One League is on hold.
In a statement, Mr Seidu revealed that when he took the trouble to contact the Chairman of the Central Regional Football Association, Mr Matthew S. Doe on the issue, he insisted that there will still be promotion to division one this season.
Mr Seidu was, however, at a loss as to whether that was going to be done on a wholesale basis or not.
"If those teams in division one are not playing, how can they determine the team which will join the premiership to pave way for second division teams to also join the first division"? he quizzed.
He noted that the current situation leaves second division clubs whose leagues are in progress in a state of confusion as the tight calendar of the GFA makes it virtually difficult for them to organise the Division One League (DOL).
He lamented that most division two clubs have no sponsorship and thus, the suspension of the DOL poses a real threat to the administration of these clubs.
