Accra, Oct 31, GNA - Mr Kudjo Fianoo, Administrative Manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), has said that the association would not be swayed by comments by any person or organization so as to prevent it from restructuring the national premier league.

He was reacting to a publication in an Accra tri-week paper which captured Mr Ben Koufie, Chairman of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Mr. Yusif Adam Ibrahim, Chairman of the Executive Council of the GFA for allegedly pouring out hard feelings against the proposed take over in running the premier league in 2005..

Mr Fianno told the GNA Sports that his outfit will issue an official statement after listening to the supposed tape that captured the two capos but insisted that the association is focused and determined to carry out the agenda which seeks to empower an independent body to run the league on a professional lines in 2005.

The administrative Manager described the alleged conspiracy as unfortunate saying "I do not want to believe it but in plain language, it is disappointing to hear such comments from people like the two gentlemen," he stressed.

The ex- welfare officer blamed the GHALCA for "opining its mouth too wide" from the onset but intimated it will be wrong for any person to underrate the strength of GHALCA in its bid to restructure the league which will enhance the development of association football in the future.

He was of the view that the association does not intend to impose anything on the FA hence their decision to officially out line their decision to the GFA though they could have easily used their power to call for an emergency congress with the support of eight premier league clubs and 24 division one league clubs as the law requires. He told the GNA that the GHALCA's restructuring will involve stakeholders who can bring their knowledge and expertise to bear on how best the proposal will benefit the nation.

He said GHALCA decided that, as part of their brainstorm stage, bodies such as premier league clubs, members of the executive council and the management board of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Referees Association of Ghana (RAG), representatives of the National Sports Council and Ministry of Education Youth and Sports as well as some selected past chairmen of the GFA join the train to evaluate the proposal.

According to Mr Fianoo the mentioned bodies and individuals will brain storm on the report submitted by the committee working on the restructure for a blue print which will aid them to draw plans for the league.

The Soccer Express of their Friday, October 31, in its banner headline reported on an alleged conversation between Mr. Koufie and Mr. Ibrahim on a wide range of issues.

The alleged conversation, according to the paper, prominently featured Mr. Nsiah as being ineffective and only travel happy and criticised the GHALCA on its proposed take over of the national premier league in 2005.
