The Disciplinary Committee of the Greater Accra Regional Football Association (GRFA) has invited the head coach of Prince United, Odoi Mohammed as well as three of the Club's players, Christian Mensah, Daniel Mensah and Ahmed Biney Nasir to its sitting on Friday, March 23.

The four are to answer charges of misconduct and violence acts preferred against them.

A statement from the secretariat of the GRFA copied to GNA Sports said the charges of misconduct and violence relates to the match between Prince United and Rot Weiss F.C. played at the Okwahu Park, Darkuman on January 20, 2011.

It said “You are hereby charged with misconduct and violence for breach of Articles 35(1), 35(2), 39(7)(a) and 39(7)(b) of the GFA Regulations in respect of this fixture”.

According to the statement, the coach and his players rushed onto the field after the match to physically attack referee Abraham Jackson and his assistants and abused them verbally as well.

It said they had to be rescued to the Darkuman Police Station, before they were rushed to hospital for medical care, adding that the behaviour of the four resulted in the loss of two flags, a whistle and caution cards.

The statement said the coach and his three players threatened to visit and deal with the referees at their homes, which the Committee finds them to have breached the stated articles of the GFA Regulations.

It said the Committee shall consider the imposition of the sanction set out by Article 39 of the GFA Regulations, adding that it intends to rely on the evidence in the reports of the referee and the Match Commissioner and the Ghana Police Service to pass a verdict.

The statement stated that Odoi and his three players may choose to submit written statement of their defence on or before March 22, and this should indicate whether they wish to admit or deny the charges made against them.**
