Footy-ghana.com can confirm that Gambia has withdrawn its national Under 17 team from the 2013 African Under 17 Nations Cup qualifiers.
Gambia was due to play against Ghana in September, but footy-ghana.com sources reveal that Gambia does not feel able to raise a team on time for the qualifiers.
Ghana’s Black Starlets will thus await the winners of the qualifying ties between Zambia and South Africa, with the resultant matches taking place in November.
In a related development, footy-ghana.com also understands that Liberia has also withdrawn its Under 17 team from the qualifiers.
The 2013 African Under 17 Nations Cup will take place in Morocco.
