Accra, Oct 20, GNA - The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Gambian match officials for next month's African Nation Championship (CHAN) final round first leg qualifier between Ghana's Black Stars and the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
Information gathered by GNA Sports from the CAF Secretariat in Cairo has it that thirty-four year old John Frank Mendy will direct affairs from the middle of the rivalry clash billed for the Ohene Djan Stadium, Accra on the weekend of November 28 to 30.
Mendy, will be assisted by compatriots Manneh Seedy and Touray Soulayman, with Ghanaian Badiu Ibrahim Adams serving as the fourth referee.
It will be the second game for the Gambian trio in Ghana in less than two months since they handled the Asante Kotoko-Jeunnesse Sportif Kabylie of Algeria Confederation Cup tie at the Baba Yara Sport Stadium in Kumasi last September.

Meanwhile Bangoura Aboubacar Mario, Doumbouya Aboubacar and Diane Alhassane all from Guinea will also be in charge of the second leg encounter slated for Abuja on the weekend of December 12 to 14. Nigerian Sani Zubairu will act as the fourth referee while Bruno Didavi serves as the Match Commissioner.
The winner after both legs will qualify for the finals of the first edition of the tournament designed exclusively for footballers playing in their domestic leagues.
The final tournament is slated for Cote d'Ivoire from February 22 to March 8, 2009.
Ghana brushed past Niger and Togo in the prelims and first round matches respectively.
