Ex-Ghana International Mohammed Gargo has been handed a final invitation to appear before the Ghana Football Association Ethics Committee today, Tuesday May 12.
His invitation is in relation to comments he made in a post interview on Sunday March 8 during his short stint as coach of BA United after a Premier League match against Wa All Stars at the Sunyani Stadium.
In the said interview, Mr. Gargo is alleged to have stated that players of BA United have been engaging in football betting even to the extent of betting on the outcome of the Club’s matches.
The GFA Ethics committee then invited the Chief Executive of BA United and their erstwhile coach Mohammed Gargo to appear before it to assist with investigations into the matter at its meeting on March 17.
Mr. Gargo, however, failed to appear at the sitting of the committee and also failed to show up after a second invitation to appear.
The Ethics Committee has therefore given him a final opportunity to appear before it at its next sitting on Tuesday at 3:00pm before it takes a decision on the issue.
