Portsmouth's want-away Ghana star Kevin Prince-Boateng is eager to join Serie A side Genoa but administrator Andrew Andronikou has received a larger bid from Lazio.
"His representatives are trying to put pressure on us to accept far less money than he is worth," Andronikou said. "He wants to go to Genoa but we have a much higher offer from Lazio. We are trying to bridge the two and the sooner we can move it on the better.
"I'm discussing with Kevin his position and he will be leaving the club - but it's just a matter of time and how much we get for him."
The Ghana midfielder, who enhanced his reputation at this summer's World Cup, has also been linked with Stoke City, Everton, Rangers and West Ham United.
Portsmouth, who went into administration and were relegated from the Premier League last season, need to sell their assets to raise much-needed funds.
