Sekondi Hasaacas goalkeeper George Owu has stated that he is capable of protecting the Ghana post at the 2014 World Cup.
The veteran has been instrumental for the Ghana Premier League outfit and helped the Black Stars to secure their maiden appearance at the Mundial in 2006. He believes he is experienced enough to be in Brazil.
“I thank God for my life and making me one of the best goalkeepers in the Ghanaian league. My determination and prayer I think has brought me this far as the number one shot-stopper for the giants of the west Sekondi Hasaacas,” Owu told Frontpagegh.
“I feel great with my performances in the league of which I know most football agents and administrators are keeping a close eye on me,” the former Asante Kotoko keeper added.
The last line of defense said he hopes to move to Europe and can realise that dream if he makes it to the World Cup.
“My lust for European football keeps growing and will, therefore, be elated to ply my trade in Europe though it is not easy for African goalkeepers to easily penetrate into the European terrain with the exception of Vincent Enyeama who has had a prolific stint in Europe.
“Therefore if I am given the chance to join Ghana for the World Cup in Brazil it will enhance my Curriculum Vitae,” Owu added.
