The Ghana Football Association says it will pursue the nationality switch of Asante Kotoko’s Ivorian striker Ahmed Toure.
The 23-year-old clinical finisher has declared his intention to represent Ghana international level but his documents are yet to be processed.
Ghana FA president Nyantakyi says the player must officially notify the FA of his intentions before the paper works can begin.
“We have heard that he has interest in playing for Ghana. What he must do now is to officially write to us so that we can also communicate to the Ivorian Football Federation on his status,” he told an Accra-based Hot FM.
“We have to know whether he has represented them at senior team before. This will help us to know the right step to take.”
Toure has proven a real striking quality with Asante Kotoko, a club he joined for the second half of last season, and played a pivotal in their third-place finish.
