Fenerbahce to beat Middlesbrough for Appiah

Fenerbahce are set to beat a host of Premiership clubs for Juventus midfielder Stephen Appiah.

Middlesbrough, Everton and Birmingham City are all chasing the Ghana international, but Fener are close to clinching the midfielder's signature following Juve's capture of Patrick Vieira last week.

"A few players will be leaving," said Juventus director general Luciano Moggi. "Although Appiah is a champion, he still might leave us." Fenerbahce are ready to offer ?5m for the former Brescia player and a deal could be finalised over the next 48 hours.
