Ghana as usual, continue to lose potential footballers to other countries. After losing highly potential players like Marcel Desailly to France, Gerald Asamoah to Germany, George Boateng and Quincy Owusu Abeyie to Holland, Freddy Adu and Nana Kwame Kuffour(formally known as Tuah Khamix) to USA, Eric Akoto to nearby Togo, the list continues unabated.

The World Under 17 Championship is just about to kick start on friday in Peru, and from the list of registered players for the tournament appears two Ghanaians who have acquired foreign citizenship and if all things been equal will play against thier native country Ghana.

In Group B,a Ghanaian called Ofori Sarkodie who plays for Chicago Magics in The US of A will be captaining the US Under 17 team. He was born on the 18th June 1988 and will be wearing the number 5 jersey as a defender for his team.

In Group D,Ghana has also lost another young talent to The Netherland. He is 17yrs old Jefrrey Sarpong(Ajax Amsterdam). He was born on the 3rd August 1988, will be playing as a midfielder donning number 8 jersey for The Netherlands.

Its too late for Ghana to acquire thier services to play for Ghana at the under 17 level now but can still count on new FIFA law which allow players who play at age competitions to change nationality if they so wish.
