The Black Stars are preparing in Libreville ahead of their 2010 African Nations Cup and World Cup qualifier against Gabon on Saturday after arriving on Wednesday.
Ghana, sit at the summit of Group 5, after winning two games in the African zone qualifying campaign victories over Libya and Lesotho as the Black Stars and look for a third consecutive victory in the qualifiers this weekend.
Up next for the Black Stars in the qualifying campaign is Gabon, who play Ghana in their second game of the qualifiers after losing over the weekend.
The Black Stars who won their last game 3-2 against Lesotho in Bloemfontein after surviving a late scare remain unperturbed with the fight back by the Basotho’s as they seek to maintain their winning style, says midfielder, Michael Essien.
“We need the three points from every game so that is what we will look out for in Gabon,” he said.
“I don’t care about the score line so long as we can win then that is great.”
The 21-man Ghana squad in Libreville hands Sellas Tetteh a tall list to select from after he received an injury boost this week with Sulley Muntari confirming his readiness for the game against Gabon after sitting out of the last match due to a toe injury.
“I am fine now and ready to play. I had a surgery and my toe is fine. I hope to be part of the next game,” Sulley said.
Ghana would play their third game in the qualifying campaign this weekend against Gabon after making winning start to their Group 5 qualifying campaign with a 3-0 win over Libya in Kumasi and a 3-2 away victory over Lesotho in Bloemfontein last Sunday.
A win in Libreville would take Ghana a step closer to advancing from the first phase of African qualifiers for the 2010 finals.
