Ghana football will make a huge impact at the MTN/CAF Awards in Johannesburg, South Africa tomorrow.
The event, which will be seeing its 3rd edition tomorrow, is held annually to reward people in Africa football for their achievement and contribution to the game in the past but particularly in the previous year, under the auspices of the football governing body of the continent the Confederation of African Football (CAF).
Since its inception Jones Attuquayefio is the only Ghanaian to have picked up a top award by winning the Best Coach Award in 2001, after he led Accra Hearts of Oak to win the Super Cup, Champions League, League and FA cups in 2000.
The chairman of the Ghana Football Association Mr. Ben Koufie will leave Accra tonight for the event, as Ghana will receive an award at the banquet for her role in the development of youth football.
Already in South Africa is Alberta Sackey who will pick up her award as Africa Woman Player of the Year. Alberta Sackey who emerged top scorer at the Women's Nation's Cup finals in Nigeria is being rewarded for leading the Black Queens to the silver medal in the competition.
The attractive Ghanaian lady Foussena Djagba and that amusing lamppost of a soccer commentator Mark Gleeson will compere the event, which will be chaired by the President of CAF Mr. Issa Hayatou.
