The national men's Rugby teams of Ghana and Togo have confirmed their participation in the first Abuja International Rugby Championship scheduled for the Nigerian capital 25 October, organisers said.
Nigeria Rugby Football Association said in Lagos the Togolese team would arrive 24 October with a 27-man delegation, but could not say when the Ghanaians were expected arrive.
However, the Kenyan team has withdrawn from the competition in order to focus on the World Cup African regional qualifier scheduled in Egypt simultaneously with the Nigerian competition.
Meanwhile, at least 12 local clubs have qualified for the Nigerian championship, slated to hold at the Brigade of Guards Sports Complex, Maitama in Abuja.
