Ghana coach Avram Grant has no doubt his side will do well at the Africa Cup of Nations.

The former West Ham and Chelsea manager claims he has put in a lot of work to build a fortified squad after a calamitous World Cup display in Brazil.

He summoned every tact and wit to guide the Black Stars to the final of the Nations Cup-losing to Ivory Coast on penalties.

"It was not an easy process then because it was after the World Cup - crises all around and people up till now they are living the trauma of what happened on and off the pitch,'' Grant said on Sky Sports.

"It was not an easy process but it was a good process because we did very well at the African Cup and since then we are trying to create stability in the squad. Half of the squad is new players.

"Very good players like Michael Essien, [Sulley] Muntari, and [Kevin] Boateng are not in the squad and now fantastic players. So it's a new team. The stability is very important for us.

"It was easy to create stability because three of our top players like Andre Ayew who now injured in West Ham, Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah from Juventus was injured all the time but the team showed a lot of good spirit and even without them the team was on the right way.

"I think we will do well in the African Cup because he create some stability."

Ghana will begin their campaign at the Nations Cup against Uganda on 17 January before engaging Mali four days later.

Their final Group D match will be against favourites Egypt on 25 January in Port Gentil.
