Accra, Feb 26, GNA - Ghana has launched "Agenda 2010" aimed at raking in success, barely two weeks after their failed "host and win" objective at the African Nations Cup.

Kwesi Nyantakyi, President of Ghana Football Association (GFA) said the idea was strategically constructed to ensure the Black Stars chalk success at the next Nations Cup in Angola and qualify for the World Cup in South Africa in 2010.

He said the idea was born out of Ghana's determination to lay claim to the ultimate at the two events after the Black Stars managed a third place at the just ended competition in Accra.

Whiles believing the Black Stars could win the 2010 Nations Cup in Angola, Nyantakyi is similarly convinced that Ghana could be a strong semi finals candidate at the World Summit in South Africa.

He said the core of the team that won five games in six outings at the Nations Cup would be retained in the FA's quest to build a strong team for both competitions.

He was emphatic however that the performance of each player would determine his continual stay in the team.

"If we continue at this pace, we will get better and make a fine claim in Angola for the trophy, whilst we seek to carry Africa's dream semi final place to South Africa."

Nyantakyi was optimistic that hard work, spiced with commitment could make Ghana winners in both events in 2010.
