The possibility of Ghanaian teenager Koby Arthur and his compatriot Demarai Gray taking to the field for action together at Birmingham City is growing ever nearer.
Lee Clark admits that, at some stage, it is likely the 18-year-olds could start a match in the jersey of the Birmingham senior side.
“Possibly, they can even start today because I think they are two exciting players,” the manager told Birmingham Mail. “Attacking players who make things happen.”
“They have only had a little spell at Charlton when we got them on together, just before Koby started tiring towards the end. So that is something for me to look into.”
Clark added: “We have done a bit of work with them on the training pitch, now it’s my decision whether I go with the two of them together or we start with one and the other is on the bench. But, eventually, when they do get together it is something I am really looking forward to.”
Academy products Gray and Arthur can play on either flank, or up front through the middle.
“They are two players who really make things happen in the attacking third and they excite the fans,” Clark continued. “They go past people, they are brave, and in that I mean they are not frightened to attack defenders even though they know they are going to get kicked.”
“We have just got to remember how young they are and not put all the emphasis on these two boys as the senior lads are crucial in helping them through.”
