Ghana have moved nine places in the latest Fifa ranking released on Wednesday after an impressive World Cup campaign.
The Black Stars are now rated 23 in the World and second on the continent behind champions Egypt.
Ghana managed a quarter-final finish and were ranked 7th by Fifa in the World Cup rankings.
Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Algeria, Gabon and Cameroon follow in that order in the Africa ratings.
Spain have toppled five-time champions Brazil at the summit followed by the Netherlands and Germany fourth.
