Ghana will now camp in Turkey ahead of the second leg play-off against Egypt.
The Black Stars were scheduled to base in Ethiopia’s Addis Ababa initially, but officials seem not convinced with the state of the facilities in the eastern African country.
“Black Stars will be based in Turkey ahead of the November 19th FIFA World Cup duel in Cairo,” a special aide to the Sports Minister, Yaw Ampofo-Ankrah, posted on his Facebook wall.
“This is after an advanced party from the GFA visited the proposed venue in Ethiopia and reported back that it falls short of expectations.”
The four-time African champions will face off with Egypt on November 19 after thrashing the Pharaohs 6-1 during the first-leg in Kumasi last month.
