Accra, Nov 15, GNA - Professor Dominic Fobih, Minister of Education, Science and Sports has assured of Ghana's readiness to deliver a fabulous Nations Cup to the rest of the world come next year. "I wish to assure you and the entire sporting world that everything has so far gone according to laid down plan.

"Everything that the Confederation of African Football (CAF) considers to be necessary is placed on the Local Organizing Committee's (LOC) priority list for immediate provision and satisfaction".

Prof. Fobih who gave the assurance at the third of an LOC media seminar underway in Accra said that Ghana's ambition is to raise the standard of the biannual fiesta beyond the excitement and entertainment usually connected with such a showpiece.

He said the ministry will continue to encourage programs and activities aimed at fashioning out new ways that would in the end become legacies to be cherished for time on end.

The Minister said arrangements are underway to improve the technical know-how of identified media practitioners, especially those expected to play important roles in television production during the competition. "Before long such opportunities will be made real and available for the television production and communications on specific training that should position the personnel to manage the future use of facilities and resources that will come out of the tourney."

Touching on the publicity for the competition that pieces Africa's best 16 together, Prof. Fobih said "much as we need the publicity to excite the citizenry into the feel of the tournament, it is equally important to base all these on proper timing in order to be able to carry the momentum all the way to the competition. "We cannot dare stretch our resources too thin, but we will rather attempt to concentrate resources within the time span that should be of the greatest benefit to Ghana as the host country".
